Animation Director

Dazzle Pictures is seeking a talented Animation Director to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our animation department, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the creative vision of our animation projects. You will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and artists to ensure the highest quality animation is delivered. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative studio and contribute to groundbreaking projects.

THIS POSITION IN A NUTSHELL

Maintain and represent the Director's and VFX Supervisor’s vision throughout the animation process, while presenting original artistic interpretations.
Lead a team of skilled animators to deliver hi-fidelity animation; giving constructive, actionable, relevant feedback along each stage.
Work with the CG Supervisor, Rigging, Modeling and FX teams as to the technical setup of characters to be animated.
Verify the quality of animation and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction prior to Client review.
Act as the animation department's representative in meetings with other team leads, ensuring seamless communication.
Lead the Animation department with best people management practices while ensuring team cohesion and an atmosphere of creativity.

THE KIND OF PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Expert knowledge of Maya, Blender, and associated animation tool sets.
Prior experience supervising or leading a team of animators, providing constructive and insightful feedback.
Knowledge of rigging and skinning requirement for animation.
In-depth understanding of cinematic animation and production pipelines.
Ability to animate shots with realistic motions.
Ability to mentor individuals to develop skills and knowledge.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
